Superintendent’s Message

Welcome back Bobcats.  I hope you had great summer and are ready for a productive yet fun school year.  As I transition into Cambridge CIty Schools I would like to briefly introduce myself to the district.   My family lives locally and has done so for the past 10 years.  My wife Ashley is a lifelong resident of Guernsey County and I am originally from a small town in northeast Ohio.  We have 3 children: Peyton, John (stillborn) and Hayden.  I moved to New Concord in 1998 to attend Muskingum University and have never left.  My career started as a Firefighter/EMT locally and as a teacher at East Guernsey Local Schools where I taught and coached.  My last 13 years have been spent at Mid-East Career and Technology Centers as a teacher and Administrator.  While my experience at Mid-East has been tremendous and I will cherish those years, I am ready to begin my tenure at Cambridge City Schools. I look forward to serving the students and community.

As the new Superintendent of Cambridge City Schools, I am excited and eager to provide a high level education for all students attending our district.  As I have begun my time as Superintendent, I have been overwhelmed by the positive interactions I have had with our students, staff, parents and community members.  I can truly feel the pride that the community has in Cambridge City Schools and the passion for continuing to grow the district into an even higher performing district.

I believe in public education and the benefits it provides students every day.  My vision is to provide a safe and conducive environment that takes tremendous strides in doing what is best for students and our community. Within my first months in the district, I plan to listen to the current state of the district and formulate an overview of what our community wants to be provided in an education at Cambridge City Schools.  I believe that communication, transparency and collaboration will benefit all involved in the district.  I encourage our students, parents and community to communicate with our staff and directly with myself to assist in developing this strategic plan of action as it is created and continues to build our District into what is expected for our students.

I firmly believe that all students can learn and that all students can choose to be successful.  We, as a district, need to maintain hope and support for our students.  Please take the time to consider how you will positively impact others, regardless of your role as a student, parent, educator or community member, by assisting them to have the hope and the support it takes to be successful.

Enjoy the rest of your summer and we look forward to seeing you back in session later in August.
